The great philosophical teachings of East & West explain that we can’t change the world if we don’t change ourselves. It is through the practice of universal values that we can profoundly transform ourselves by putting our ideas into action.
Practical philosophy helps develop self-confidence, moral strength and resilience, to face the difficulties and crises of everyday life. It allows us to become protagonists of change in our lives and in our environment.

Weekly course in Active Philosophy

This course is a series of theoretical and practical classes to get to know yourself and learn to face many different circumstances in life without forgetting the art of living with others.
Accessible to everyone, we learn how to practice the teachings of the great philosophers of East and West in our daily lives.

  • Get to know and transform yourself.
  • Free yourself from conditioning and prejudices.
  • Develop moral strength and creativity in order to face difficulties in life.
  • To live in a more altruistic manner, through learning how to live with others

Know and understand yourself better through asking what is really important to me?
What does it mean to be a human being?
What is the soul?

LIVE TOGETHER

Know how to live together. Are justice, tolerance and freedom possible nowadays? What is freedom?
What is the value of commitment?

TRANSFORM YOURSELF

Actively shape your life. What makes me happy?
How can I transform myself?

OVERCOME CRISES

Can we change society? How to overcome crises? Are we influenced by the cycles of time? What is the role of the idealist in this transformation?

BEING HAPPY

The path to happiness. Relationship between suffering and consciousness. To live your dreams. To dare to become a hero in everyday life.

EXERCISES

Managing the body, energy, emotions, improving concentration, memory, attention, imagination, etc.

TAKE ACTION TO BE YOURSELF: THE PATH OF THE HEROES

Meditation and action. Human nature: reality and appearances
Plato and the myth of the cave. Freedom and responsibility: become a peaceful warrior.
India and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Decision and action: the inner battle.
Buddhism: suffering and consciousness. Letting go and the Middle Way.
The timeless mysticism of Tibet. The path to wisdom and the “Voice of the Silence”.
Paradigm shift. Collective conscience and individual responsibility.

 

ACTION TO TRANSFORM SOCIETY: THE PATH TO COMMITMENT

How to transform society? To go beyond violence and corruption: the idealists’ role in this transformation.
Relationship between the individual and the State. Individual ideals and collective ideals.
Education and initiation. Initiatory education and the path to transformation.
Healing from the “disease” of power. Learning interdependence and solidarity.

 

ACTION IN HISTORY: THE PATH TO TRANSFORMATION

Leaving behind immediacy. Being and becoming throughout history.
Myths and archetypes: reinventing the world. The role of imagination in becoming: myth and history.
Cycles and evolution. Examples for a future world.
Historical perspectives: towards a new Renaissance. Building a path towards transformation.

This first cycle of active philosophy is just the beginning and additional levels are available for those who want to progress and deepen their knowledge.

Duration: 16 classes (once a week)

Fee: €160/€120 concession (under 26, students, unemployed, seniors)
